REDDING, Calif.— The Academy Sports + Outdoors B.A.S.S. Nation Western Regional presented by Magellan at Lake Shasta may be the most closely contested B.A.S.S. Nation tournament ever. After 11 teams battled for two days on Lake Shasta, the California B.A.S.S. Nation team claimed first place with 293 pounds, 12 ounces, besting second place Idaho by a mere 7 ounces.read more

Kenneth Cleveland claims his drop shot was the reason for his victory this weekend on Castaic -- and having a good area helped out, too.
Jim McLaughlin went from zero to hero this weekend! After showing up empty-handed on Saturday, he came to the weigh-in on Sunday with 13.20 pounds! It was enough for Jim to take the win on the nonboater side and qualify for the 2019 California B.A.S.S. Nation State Team! Great job, Jim!
Kenneth Cleveland followed up his 19-pound bag on Saturday with a 14 1/2-pound bag yesterday! It was enough for the victory, making him the first boater on the 2019 California B.A.S.S. Nation State Team. He put on a great show!
